QR code generator.
Free. Forever static.
Turn any link or text into a QR code and download it as PNG, JPEG or SVG. No account, no watermark, and the code never expires because it points straight to your URL.
Your QR code
Type a URL or text to create your QR code.
Three rules for
QR codes that work.
Most broken QR codes fail for the same few reasons. Check these before you send anything to print.
Dark on light
Use a dark code on a light background with strong contrast. Inverted or pastel codes look nice but many phone cameras cannot read them.
At least 2 x 2 cm
For print, keep the code at least 2 cm wide and leave a white margin around it. Use SVG for print so it stays sharp at any size.
Tag the link first
Add UTM parameters before you generate the code. Otherwise every scan shows up as direct traffic in Google Analytics.
QR code generator: common questions.
Are these QR codes really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit. The code is generated in your browser and contains your link directly, so it keeps working even if this website disappears.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. These are static QR codes. Some services create dynamic codes that redirect through their servers and stop working when a subscription ends. Static codes never expire.
Which format should I download?
Use SVG for print and design tools, because it scales without losing quality. Use PNG for websites, slides and social media. JPEG works where PNG is not accepted.
What does error correction mean?
It lets the code scan even when part of it is damaged or covered. Medium is a good default. Choose High if the code will be printed on rough surfaces or partly covered.
How can I track QR code scans?
Add UTM parameters to the link with our free UTM builder, for example utm_source=qr_code and utm_medium=offline. Scans then show up as their own source in Google Analytics.
