BigCommerce SEO Services that turn a solid platform into a revenue channel
BigCommerce gets the SEO basics right out of the box: editable URLs, built-in 301s, product schema and fast hosting. That is exactly why most BigCommerce stores plateau: the easy work is done and nobody owns the hard part. We focus on international expansion: we help SaaS, B2B and e-commerce companies win the US, UK and European markets with BigCommerce SEO. Our team of experienced specialists, led by Adrian Dąbrowiecki, works with merchants in the US, UK, Australia and Europe. Category architecture, faceted search, Stencil and headless performance, multi-storefront and B2B: audited, fixed and measured in revenue. It starts with a free audit and a 90-day plan.

Built for BigCommerce storesWhy BigCommerce stores need a BigCommerce SEO agency
BigCommerce is used by tens of thousands of mid-market and enterprise merchants, with a strong footprint in the US, UK and Australia. The platform removes many classic SEO problems; what remains is strategic and platform-specific. These are the six areas where we see the biggest gains.
Stencil themes and headless storefronts
Stencil gives you full control over templates, and that control is where speed and crawlability are won or lost. For headless builds on Catalyst, Next.js or a custom front end, we make sure rendering, metadata and canonicals work for Googlebot, not only for users.
Faceted search that helps rather than hurts
Product filtering (built-in or via apps such as Searchspring or Klevu) can generate thousands of parameter URLs. We decide which filter combinations deserve to be indexed, control the rest with canonicals and robots rules, and keep the crawl focused on categories that sell.
URL structure and redirects, done once
BigCommerce lets you choose product and category URL formats and manages 301s natively. Most stores still carry legacy paths, duplicate category routes and chains from a past migration. We define the structure, clean the redirect table and stop authority leaks.
Multi-storefront and international SEO
Multi-Storefront lets you run several storefronts from one catalogue. Without hreflang, regional canonicals and localized content, Google sees duplicates. We design the international setup for the US, UK, EU and Australian storefronts so each one ranks in its own market.
Schema built in, extended where it matters
BigCommerce outputs Product and Breadcrumb schema by default. We extend it with Offer, AggregateRating, FAQ, Organization and B2B-specific data, align it with Google Merchant Center and make your catalogue citable in AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity.
Experienced specialists, direct access, flexible terms
You work with Adrian Dąbrowiecki and our team of experienced specialists, not an account manager. Monthly reporting in revenue, not rankings alone. No 12-month lock-in; cancel with one month’s notice.

Link building and digital PR
Links from retail, industry and lifestyle media in the US, UK, Australia and Europe, supplier and manufacturer pages, comparison and review sites. Criteria agreed upfront, every link reported. See link building.
How we work on a BigCommerce store
Six steps, repeated for a 300-SKU brand store and a 40,000-SKU B2B distributor. The first two are free, whether or not we work together afterwards.
Audit and quick wins
We crawl the store, read Search Console, review the theme, apps and redirect table. Within 7 days you get the blockers, the three biggest opportunities and quick wins your team can ship immediately.
Strategy and 90-day plan
Category architecture, target queries per market, content priorities and a roadmap your team or your BigCommerce agency can execute. Agreed with you, not imposed.
Technical implementation
We implement in the control panel and Stencil theme or deliver precise tickets to your developers: canonicals, redirects, faceted rules, schema, speed. For headless builds we work with your front-end team.
Catalogue and content
Category descriptions, product templates, buying guides, brand pages and blog content written for each market. Native English for US, UK and AU, plus native copy for European storefronts.
Authority building
Digital PR and link acquisition in your markets, supplier and partner links, review and comparison placements. Monthly link report with every URL.
Reporting and iteration
Looker Studio dashboard with GA4, Search Console and BigCommerce revenue per category and storefront. Monthly call: what grew, what did not, what we change next.
BigCommerce SEO issues we fix most often
From audits of BigCommerce stores in the US, UK, Australia and Europe. If you recognise two or three of these, your store is leaving organic revenue on the table.
Category pages that are thin by design
BigCommerce category templates show a product grid and little else. Without a description, FAQs and internal links, Google has nothing to rank. We add content above and below the grid, build sub-category and brand pages for long-tail demand, and connect them with contextual links from buying guides and blog posts. Categories, not products, carry most of the organic revenue in a mid-market store.
Faceted and sort parameter URLs in the index
Filter and sort parameters (price, brand, size, ?sort=priceasc) create duplicates of every category. Default canonicals handle part of it; apps and custom filters often break it. We audit which combinations deserve their own page (brand + category is a frequent winner), canonicalise the rest and check the result in the Search Console page indexing report over 4 to 8 weeks.
URL formats and legacy redirects
Stores that moved from Magento, Shopify or a custom platform often keep old URL structures, redirect chains and a mix of /category/product and /product formats. We pick one product URL format, clean the redirect table, remove chains and loops and make sure every retired product points to the right category.
Theme and app bloat
Stencil is fast, until a dozen apps inject scripts into every page. Typical result: LCP above 3 seconds on mobile and layout shifts on product pages. We audit scripts, defer or remove what does not pay for itself, optimise images and fonts and measure Core Web Vitals on templates that matter, not only the homepage.
Headless builds that look great and index badly
Catalyst, Next.js and custom front ends can serve metadata, canonicals and structured data client-side only. Googlebot renders JavaScript, but inconsistently and with delay. We verify server-side rendering, metadata parity with the old storefront, sitemap generation and internal linking before launch, and monitor coverage after it.
Multi-storefront without international signals
Several storefronts selling the same catalogue in different currencies and regions, with no hreflang, identical content and canonicals pointing at the main store. We define the domain or subfolder strategy, implement hreflang with x-default, localise key categories and set up local link building per market. See our international SEO services.
B2B edition specifics
B2B stores on BigCommerce often hide prices, require login or gate the catalogue, which can block crawling entirely. We design the public layer: indexable category and product pages, spec sheets and guides for buyers researching before they request a quote, with conversion paths to account requests and sales.
Migrating to BigCommerce
Moving from Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce or a legacy platform is a URL and template change that costs 30 to 60 percent of organic traffic when rushed. We run the migration checklist: URL inventory, redirect map, metadata and schema parity, staging crawl, launch-day verification and 90 days of monitoring.
BigCommerce vs Shopify for SEO
Both platforms rank well when configured. BigCommerce gives you more control: fully editable URLs without forced /products/ or /collections/ prefixes, native 301 management, no mandatory app for basic schema and better handling of large catalogues and B2B. Shopify has a larger app and theme ecosystem and simpler operations. If you are deciding, read our Shopify SEO page as well, or ask us for an honest comparison based on your catalogue.

BigCommerce SEO: frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions merchants ask us before starting. For the broader picture, see our ecommerce SEO services.
Is BigCommerce good for SEO?
Yes. BigCommerce is one of the strongest hosted platforms for SEO: fully editable URLs, native 301 redirects, built-in Product schema, fast CDN hosting and full theme access through Stencil. The remaining work is strategic: category architecture, faceted search, content and links. That is what a BigCommerce SEO agency adds.
How much do BigCommerce SEO services cost?
It depends on catalogue size, number of storefronts and whether we implement or specify fixes for your developers. After the free audit you receive a fixed quote with scope. The quote reflects senior expertise and working hours that overlap with US and EU teams.
How long until a BigCommerce store sees results?
Technical fixes such as redirects and faceted rules show in Search Console within 4 to 8 weeks. Category rankings typically improve in 2 to 4 months; content and links compound from month 4. Migrations are measured against pre-launch traffic over 90 days.
Do you work with headless BigCommerce stores on Catalyst or Next.js?
Yes. Headless stores are where technical SEO matters most: server-side rendering, metadata and canonical parity, sitemaps and internal linking all need to be verified. We work alongside your front-end team and test with Googlebot’s renderer before and after launch.
Can you handle Multi-Storefront and international BigCommerce setups?
Yes. We design the domain or subfolder strategy, implement hreflang with x-default, localise content for the US, UK, Australian and European storefronts and run local link building for each market. See our international SEO services.
BigCommerce or Shopify: which is better for SEO?
Both rank well when configured. BigCommerce offers more control over URLs, native redirects and better support for large catalogues and B2B; Shopify offers a bigger app ecosystem and simpler operations. We work on both and will give you an honest recommendation based on your catalogue, team and markets.
Ready to grow your BigCommerce store's organic revenue?
Most BigCommerce stores we audit have the fundamentals right and are still losing 30 to 50 percent of their potential organic traffic to thin categories, parameter duplicates and theme bloat. Fixing that is finite work with a measurable return.
